ATSEP QUALIFICATION

About the course

Following the successful completion of ATSEP Basic Training, the learner ATSEP will require to complete Qualification Training – Shared, followed by one or more of the Qualification Streams relevant to the ATSEP profile. The course is designed to give the learner ATSEP thorough understanding of human factor, safety management, teamwork, as well as in depth knowledge to prepare them for System Equipment Rating Training.

The course duration for varies depending on the streams chosen, and includes theoretical lessons, case studies and exercises. The length of each course may also vary with the number of students and the streams relevant to the ATSEP learner.

The subjects can be delivered as a stand-alone course or together with a series of streams tailored to the learner ATSEP request.

  • Two workers in a maintenance room installing or inspecting equipment. One person wearing a yellow vest and a white hard hat and a second person is visible, with who appears to be a blue vest. The room has pipes and fixtures on the ceiling.

    QUALIFICATION - SHARED

The ATSEP Qualification Shared course is designed to give participants an understanding of human factors, safety management and teamwork.

The qualification shared course is a mandatory module for the candidate to be fully qualified and able to start the training. The course duration is 4 days, and includes theoretical lessons, group assignments and emulations/exercises. The length of each course may vary with the number of students.

  • A construction or communication tower painted orange with black spiral safety features, extending into the sky with clouds in the background.

    QUALIFICATION - COM

The ATSEP Qualification Communication training is developed to give the ATSEP learner an understanding of communications within the ATM/CNS environment and the required knowledge to operate and maintain these systems in a safe and efficient manner. In addition, the course gives the ATSEP learner an introduction to Networks – National, European and Global, and Transmission Path and Recorders.

  • Solar panels arranged on a desert landscape under a clear blue sky.

    QUALIFICATION - NAV

The ATSEP Qualification Navigation training is developed to give the ATSEP learner an understanding of the relevant navigational system to be able to operate and maintain these systems in a safe and efficient manner in an ATM/CNS environment. The navigation training contains five different streams, including: Direction Finding (DF), Non-Directional Beacon (NDB), Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range (VOR), Distance Measurement Equipment (DME), and Instrument Landing System (ILS).

  • A group of people sitting and standing in a room with white walls, some looking towards a person who appears to be writing or drawing on a board or paper. Two men are standing at the front, one in a light blue shirt and the other in a black shirt.

    QUALIFICATION - SUR

The ATSEP Qualification Surveillance training is developed to give the ATSEP learner an understanding of the relevant surveillance systems to be able to operate and maintain these systems in a safe and efficient manner in an ATM/CNS environment.

The Surveillance training contains three different streams, including: Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR), Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR), and Automatic Dependent Surveillance (ADS).

  • Close-up of a green printed circuit board (PCB) with various electronic components such as integrated circuits, resistors, capacitors, and connectors.

    QUALIFICATION - DPR

The ATSEP Qualification Data Processing training is developed to give the ATSEP learner an understanding of the relevant data systems to be able to operate and maintain these systems in a safe and efficient manner in an ATM/CNS environment.

The data Processing Training is designed to give the learner ATSEP an in depth understanding of the how the data systems is used for data processing and surveillance relevant to the environment.

  • Electrical or electronic equipment with control panels and circuit diagrams in a technical or laboratory setting.

    QUALIFICATION - SMC

The ATSEP Qualification System Monitoring and Control training is developed to give the ATSEP learner an understanding of the ANS structure, systems and requirements for various tools, processes and procedures, to be able to operate and maintain these systems in a safe and efficient manner in an ATM/CNS environment.
