The first of five DVOR sites in Denmark has now been successfully completed as part of an ongoing modernization program led by Indra Navia for Naviair. The program involves upgrading existing DVOR installations with new Indra DVOR systems to ensure long-term operational reliability and compliance with air navigation requirements.
AviNeering plays an important role in supporting the project, with a delivery scope covering site preparation, civil works, DVOR installation, commissioning, and flight check ground support. In addition to site integration services, AviNeering supplies its standard DVOR counterpoise solution and navaid equipment shelter.
Civil Works
As part of the delivery, AviNeering is responsible for civil works at each DVOR location. This includes creation of new concrete foundations supporting the DVOR counterpoise, as well as bedplate foundations for the navaid equipment shelter. The scope also includes proper weed control and cleaning of the entire area beneath the counterpoise, simplifying future maintenance activities.
DVOR Installation, Commissioning, and Flight Check Ground Support
AviNeering supports the full installation of the DVOR Counterpoise structure, as well as installation and commissioning of the DVOR system. This includes on-site installation activities, commissioning and fine tuning, and support during flight check ground calibration. All is needed to ensure the system is operational for safe air navigation.

DVOR Counterpoise
For this project, AviNeering delivers our standard DVOR Counterpoise design with a diameter of 30m and a heigh of 3 meters, fully compatible with the Indra DVOR system. The Counterpoise is designed to reduce installation complexity and time on site while providing a robust and maintenance-friendly solution.
Navaid Equipment Shelter
AviNeering also delivered the navaid equipment shelters housing the DVOR electronics. For this project, a split-type shelter design has been selected, offering increased internal space compared to the standard shelter configuration.
The shelter solution accommodates DVOR cabinets and workstations and is equipped with dual air-conditioning systems, a fully integrated UPS and a complete fire detection and suppression system. The shelter is super-insulated to reduce energy consumption while ensuring stable internal climate conditions throughout the year.
