AviNeering Upgrades ILS at Abu Dhabi International Airport

32 element Localizer Antennas System at Abu Dhabi International Airport

AviNeering is pleased to announce the successful completion of a Instrument Landing system (ILS) upgrade at Abu Dhabi International Airport, delivered on behalf of Indra Navia AS.

As part of the airport’s continued modernization program, the project involved the installation, commissioning, and flight inspection of a new Normarc 7000B Localiser system on runway 31L. The system installed includes a 32- element localizer antenna system, providing narrow horizontal signals that meets the operational and regulatory standards for CAT III approaches at the most busy airports.

In addition to the new localizer, AviNeering installed new Remote Monitoring System (RMS) for runway 31L and performed an upgrade of the existing RMS on runway 13R. To support controller situational awareness and system supervision, we also delivered and commissioned new status panels installed in the Approach Room, Control Tower, and Backup Tower.

The project was delivered in close coordination with project stakeholders, ensuring seamless integration into the existing airport infrastructure and minimal operational disruption. All systems passed their acceptance tests and flight check caliibration successfully and are now fully operational.

This project strengthens our long-standing collaboration withaviation stakeholders and Indra Navia and highlights AviNeering’s ability to execute navaids installations and upgrades in high-traffic airport environments.
